Canopy Comms Meshtastic Solar Node Printed Parts Kit

I designed this custom Meshtastic Solar Node enclosure specifically for deployment in trees, where increased elevation can significantly improve network coverage and performance.

This listing contains the 3D printed parts required to assemble your own Canopy Comms solar node. The enclosure is designed to accommodate both the 1W WisMesh Booster and the RAKwireless WisBlock Meshtastic Starter Kit or RAKwireless Mini Meshtastic Starter Kit.

The solar panel used in my build is a 6V 2W panel, which can be found on Amazon, AliExpress, and other online retailers.

What's Included

All printed parts are manufactured in ASA for outdoor durability and UV resistance.

Whether you're camping, hunting, participating in field exercises, or preparing for emergencies, this enclosure allows you to quickly deploy a solar-powered Meshtastic node high above the ground for improved coverage and network performance.

While this enclosure is designed for outdoor use, I recommend applying a weatherproof sealant such as Amazing GOOP® around the lid if the node will be deployed outdoors year-round.

I currently use this enclosure on my own network and have successfully deployed it over 60 feet in the air using a simple arborist throw line. The additional elevation significantly improved performance and allowed me to discover and connect with nodes that were previously unreachable.
